Best language training course?

Not sure where to put this, so...

It looks like the next vacation destination is going to be Greece. Do you have a favorite language course (tape, CD...) that you would care to recommend?

Thanks!

Right now I'm learning German using Living Language, who makes language cd's for many languages. So far I'm happy. They cover everyday language pretty well. Although this is my first CD language course.

I've been using the Pimsleur CDs for French and think they're very good.

I used Pimsleur for German and was very happy with it. I just picked up a CD called "In Flight Greek" - save your money . I may have to order the Pimsleur on-line.

I used the Pimsleur tapes to learn some Dutch, and found them very helpful.
I speak Greek and all I have to say to you is, Good Luck!! It's a tough language...
Actually if there is a greek church in your city, many give cheap greek lessons.

Another vote for Pimsleur...

I learned to speak pretty darn good Japanese using their tapes. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Excellent product in my opinion!

Pimsleur was very good for my Russian. (I learned a bit, enough to translate technical papers with a dictionary, in grad school, but that was ages ago and they didn't care if I could speak it or not.) My only regret in that regard is that I didn't get the tapes until after my third trip there, and, now that I can get along in the language, I have no plans to return in the foreseeable future.

Wow, I like Pimsleur, too. I had no idea there was such a following. I've used the Spanish and Mandarin Chinese to great effect...

And yet another vote for.... Pimsleur! The 30-lesson sets are excellent. (Some of the more popular languages have several levels -- like 1, 2, and 3 -- each of 30 lessons.)

I've studied (or refreshed) several languages using this series. They do indeed have a course in Greek, which I have used. (I think the Greek course has only 20 lessons.)

I have also been successful in getting bargains on Pimsleur courses on eBay. Of course, you could also sell your course on eBay after using it, if you are so inclined.

Another vote for Pimsleur. I have all 90 lessons of each French, German and Italian and find them very useful. I also first looked on eBay. There are a few people on there who are dealers who might have Greek for a reasonable price. You might check your library too. Mine has many of the 8-lesson traveler sets.

I've learned a bit of Greek although I find most Greeks talk to me in English. Though knowing how to say, Where is ..., has been helpful.
