The trains in Spain....
fall mainly...oh never mind.
I'm returing to Spain this November for a week. It would be for a longer period, but don't get me started on my company's vacation policy.
Anyway, I plan to take the AVE high speed train from Madrid to Cordoba the day I arrive. After two nights in Cordoba (at the Parador), I'll take the train to Granada, where I'll spend three nights (the Parador was booked, so I'm staying at the Alhambra Palace). Then train it back to Madrid for two nights (at the Hotel Opera) and then home.
After checking out the Renfe site, it seems that while in transit from Cordoba to Granada (and return), I'll need to change trains in Bobadilla.
Two questions:
1. Is this true - or do you have a better routing?
2. Should I purchase my train tickets prior to leaving the states (I'll have to check to see if I can do this on the Renfe site), or should I just wait until I arrive?
Thanks.

Trains to Grenada tend to be difficult, so the routing wouldn't surprise me.
As for buying in advance, I definately would for the AVE since depending on business travel, these sell out rather quickly - esp if you want a non-smoking car (key for me). The Cordoba-Grenada train less important since Nov isn't high season, but I would do it anyway. If you can't book online, let me know via email and I'll get you a telephone number.
