Credit for not using return flight

Credit for not using return flight
I am flying on delta but will only be using the first leg (ie not using the return flight of a r/t ticket). is there any way to get cridit for the unused return flight? thanks in advance!

If due to cancellation or delay or schedule change you are unable to use the return flight, the airline should refund a pro-rated amount of the round trip fare.

Your ticket should have the booking conditions printed on it (this will often be in shorthand, such as "NONREF" for "non-refundable"). Some tickets are refundable, some are not. With some tickets you may be able to use the return coupon at a later date, or exchange it for an MCO (Miscellaneous Charges Order) which is a voucher that can be used towards future bookings. It all depends on the kind of ticket you have.
