I know of three older veterans who were planning to take their spouses to France this summer who canceled those plans due to France's position on Iraq. Two are going to Britain instead, and the other is traveling around the US.

Reap what you sow.

As much as France wants to spin it, France was on the side of allowing Hussein's brutal regime to continue. And to a lesser extent, so were America's anti-war liberals.

Like the President said, You're either with us or against us. Too Bad, France.

doc, they only went to Tampa. They'll be back on Friday for the second series with the Mets. Did you watch last night's game? Way to go Armando Benitez!

We only use our best weapons against opponents who might fight back!

Regardless of cost, this permits me to continue my lifelong boycott of France, which is over a quarter of a century old!

If is nice to see others have joined me!

Mets: Albie Lopez is available!

This thread went OMNI in a hurry...

Back to the Travelbuzz portion: the fares in that article aren't really that good. Even if I (a) trust human travel agents, (b) live in Newark, (c) want to buy two tickets and not just one, (d) am an Air India flyer, and (e) want to stay in a Comfort Inn, of all things, in Paris...the deals aren't what I'd call "newsworthy".

If you're 4 for 5 or better on the above, then it seems like a reasonable offer.

If you are 0 for 5 on the above, you are left to wonder why the author is honking this deal. Does he get a cut of the sales?

Doesn't sound like France is trying that hard to get me over there.

Good point pinniped!

And, Analise, I feel sure that Benitez will sonn be gone from the Mets. All those saves, and never the big one it seems! He will likely be rememebred for failing to hold the 3-2 lead against the Yanks in the first game of the 2000 "Subway" Series!

In any case, if anyone can make it to France, especially to see Lance, by all means go!

or, rather, don't come at all. Make it easier for me to get a table at a good restaurant.

Americans aren't the only ones who come to spend their holidays here, you know

And France isn't the only country with good restaurants!
