One-Way--Help
We have good friends moving from the West Coast to the midwest. I volunteered to drive one of their cars to their new home for them. Here's my problem. The one-way airfare back is $670. The round trip is $270?? (Figure that out??) I've heard its against airline policy to buy a round trip and only fly one-way. Anyone have any ideas????

Depending where in the midwest, you could also check Southwest - they sell one ways at $299 or less.

Buy the roundtrip.
If you're really concerned about being caught for throwaway ticketing, don't give the airline a frequent flyer number. While there's no mileage accrual at that point, there's also no way to hunt you down.
Separately, the airlines generally go after issueing agents on these sorts of issues (as least for back to back ticketing) rather than individual purchasers.
I wouldn't worry about this one at all!
