tennis racket

Can a tennis racket be carried onboard a domestic US flight, or does it have to be checked? How about on the int'l flights not involving US airports? Anyone know, or have actual experience on this recently?

Qantas SYD to LAX two weeks ago, three teens came on w/them as hand luggage. They had the same connecting flight as well, AA LAX to JFK, after transiting customs.

Didn't notice any problems...

I mostly carry at least 3 in one bag and don't check them in. No problems so far on UA, LH, SK, TG, NZ, RG, LX, SQ, OS, TY, BM.

Thx for the quick replies. Rudi, you must be a tennis fanatic. I'm thinking of going to Killington Tennis in Vermont later this summer. Ever been there?
