EmPower
I realize that you guys have discussed this many a time, and I read the past topics on this, but I'm still at a loss....
Delta recommends using the iGo $120 emPower adapter.
My local store has the APC Travel Power 75W (http://www.apcc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=PNOTEAC75&language=en& LOCAL.APCCountryCode=US) at $70
Will this adapter fit the emPower plug?
From what I read of your discussions earlier, I was lead to believe that an air plug is always the same...is this true?
Thank you.

The APC inverter creates 120V AC at 75W - the plug is a standard car cigarette lighter plug that breaks apart to reveal an Empower plug inside it. On AA you use the cigarette plug on other airlines you may need the Empower plug.
Frankly for laptops the APC is proving to lack adequate amperage to run them or charge them as I found out when I tried my APC on an AA flight with a new laptop (my old Dell Inspiron 4100 was OK).
I bought APC's case with built in power supply (called TravelPower case), removed the power supply and use it now - it has an AC plug for the hotel room, and this pulls off and a DC plug ( both cigarette and Empower come with it) replaces the AC plug.
You set a dial to the right voltage, in my case 19V DC. It outputs 3.6A and works with my laptop now. SOme people by the "juice" from IGo but are reporting its 70W output is inadeequate also .
Otherwise check LIND for theirs - they are quite the experts in DC/DC adapters and if your computer is not listed - e-mail them and they will tell you what will work.

New Dells require 90W, not 75W, of power to run them. There are a lot of pissed off travellers out there who bought a new Dell and found out their old travel adapter does not have enough juice to run them
check the wattage if you need to buy a new laptop or power converter
