Not going through security
I recently flew from YZF to YXY on First Air. As this flight was entirely in Canada's north, we didn't go through security. (NOt to worry...on other flights that go down south, such as YZF to YEG, you do go through security)
They boarded us directly from a gate near the tarmac. It was a very strange feeling not going through the laptop swab, not walking through the metal detector, and not assuming the position for a sweep of the wand.
I'm wondering, is there anywhere else in the world where you don't have to go through security before boarding a plane?

Australia's Horn Island in the Timor Strait (off the northern tip of Queensland) didn't have security checks when I flew out of there last December, but was scheduled to start them in February. Anyone been there since?

On the island of Lanai in the early AM.
A couple months ago, we had an early AM flight from LNY-HNL on Island Air.
They have the x-ray machines and pax walk throughs, but made the comment that there were not enough of us on the flight to make it worth their while so they just let the 12 of us on the plane.
