"When I was in New Hampshire many years ago, I thought the rock formation did look remarkably like the profile of a man, and so did everyone with me. It didn't take that much imagination to see it."

Same here. My husband and I thought it was pretty cool. My husband makes an annual pilgrimage to climb Mt Washington. (Actually the pilgrimage is hopping a plane to Manchester, then driving to the White Mountains. He does hike up the mountain however.) I think it will be sad for him this year knowing the familiar "face" is no longer there.
