Thai Government requires inbound pax to wear masks

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Asia, says that all tourists from countries hit hard by a deadly flu-like virus must wear masks at all times or face a six-month jail term and fine.

Hi,

Has anyone seen the above - it's been reported by a number of agencies, but I can't get any clarification. Specifically, i'm booked to transit through SIN to Thailand next month & have no intention of going if i'm going to have to wear a mask for a week!

Has anyone flown into Thailand from an 'infected' area in the last few days? What's the procedure at the airport?

Thanks

Tony

Well I am doing it tomorrow. I am connecting in SIN from CPH to BKK and we will see if they make me wear the mask!

Thanks - looked at the site this morning & they have an unofficial translation of the policy at http://203.157.19.7/public_content/F.../0001746_1.doc
This is directly at odds with what the papers are saying. Anyway, will be good to see what cmhua777 comes back with.
