Scotland in August
I'm travelling to a wedding in Scotland from the east coast (DC) at the beginning of August. The best deal I've found is about $560 on Aer lingus. I've been told that waiting until later in the year that the prices will go down, but I was under the impression that during high season tickets will only get more expensive. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will i get a better deal if i wait a few months? Does anyone have some good resources about tickets to Scotland or other parts of the UK?
Thanks

I'd take the $560. Although the tourist season peters out in August (you didn't say which days you were traveling) as the kids go back to school in the US, it doesn't mean the prices will drop. Do check AA to Glasgow. I've gotten some good fares on that route out of ORD. Glasgow is a really nice airport. It's easy to get to the east coast by train or bus.

Check Icelandair which has the most 'direct' route to Glasgow. Only one stop in Reykivyk(sp?). If you have time, do an overnight there and take a tour. Fascinating country, although Scotland is the best!! It should be nice there as the heather starts to bloom in late August.
