Today's quotes:
"Remember! They don't speak English in Poland, so it is always nice to learn a few native phrases."
"It's not easy, but with careful planning, you too can visit five countries in three days!"

I have to confess, I do, too. In the dot-com era of yesterday, his resemblance to Bill Gates made him seem positively chic, but that was then. In fact, he probably reminds people of all the money they lost in the high tech market!
But I have never really enjoyed his kitschy, quirky programs.

Well, anonplz, I guess it's you and me against the world.
Up here--get this--the PBS station is starting to use him in marathon-format during fundraisers. Like he is a special draw or something. Like I am going to peel apart my wallet after hearing him say "And do you know what? Money comes in different colors in Europe!"

If you hate him so much, why do you watch him?
Or is he someone you just LOVE to hate?
Yes, he is a dweeb, but his books are OK. There's lots of practical stuff in them.

The Australians have energetic euro-trash kids hosting their Lonely Planet travel shows. The Brits have a witty self-effacing Michael Palin showing us the world.
But who do we get? Rick Steves.

He's definitely a weenie, but certainly not worth hating. His bit on Amsterdam coffeeshops was unintentionally hillarious!
You should call during the pledge drive and tell them you'll pledge if they take him off!
