Warm Weather Vacation

After putting off planning for the last minute, a friend and I are thinking of taking a 1 week vacation leaving anytime between 12/24 and 12/29 and returning anytime between 12/31 and 1/5.

Anyone have any ideas on good places to go that are reasonably priced this time of year, are "warm weather" locations, won't cost an arm and a leg (prob. not much more than $1500-2000 all inclusive), will provide a good mix of things to do (we're both outdoor oriented, love hiking, biking, snorkeling, etc.). Another catch is one of us lives in San Francisco, the other in New York...

Any recommendations, thoughts, comments, would be more than welcome!

Thanks!

Dunno if this will fit your requirements, but i've noticed that flights from the east coast to Hawaii are around $600 for the next month or so. Unbelievably cheap for the holiday season, considering how many people go there for the holidays.

What do you mean by "warm weather"? To my wife, warm weather means above high 70's F which on the dates you listed is only available in S. FL. or HI.

If you can delay the trip until after the 1st week of Jan, your pricing will be much lower.

How very true. On Mon 12/16 PHL-HNL was $1280 RT and on Wed 12/18 I was able to book it for $660 RT. A nice savings.

Funny, for some of us your hometown of San Francisco counts as a "warm weather vacation" at this time of year.
