How do I Route This...Please Advise

HI Friends,

One top choice on my honeymoon is a 14 night cruise from Auckland (New Zealand) to Honolulu.

We will be flying out of MUMBAI, India in March 2003.

OUR Itenary is as follows:

BOMBAY (MUMBAI) to Auckland- BY AIR
AUCKAND TO HONOLULU - BY SEA
HONOLULU TO MUMBAI - BY AIR

**Basically, I am confused what routing I can purchase.

Do I have to buy two one way tickets, i.e. Bombay-Auckland, and second is Honolulu-Bombay (OF course with connections)

Or can I buy some other type of ticket which will be more cost economical?

Thanks for your help
AK

What you want is an "Open jaw". The trouble is if the airlines will sell you such a ticket for that gap. You'll have to check for airlines that fly between BOM and both AKL and HNL (or at least use codeshares to get there) to try to get a cheap excursion ticket (that'd rule out SQ, MH and CX off the top of my head). I'd look at CI, QF, PR, KE, JL, NH to start with.

If you plan to use an online reservation system to check fares, just use multiple destination and specifiy BOM-AKL as one leg and HNL-BOM as the 2nd.

You might also check for BOM-AKL and BOM-HNL r/t and get a OW or throwaway r/t HNL-AKL and see if this combo is cheaper.

This might be a good one to run past a travel agent, because agents have easy access to tools which are sometimes very difficult to reproduce on the Internet.
