Maybe an archive search will give you some feedback, including from some of us who saw the author on his book tour. I didn't buy it nor did I read it, and I found him somewhat but not entirely amusing.

I read the book on a flight from LHR-MAD. I think the whole book took me 1/2 to read (I'm a speed reader) It was amusing but doesn't have any stories that we haven't heard a version of here on FT

In this vein, Rene Foss has written Around the World in a Bad Mood! : Confessions of a Flight Attendant (you can get this at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0786890118 or http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0786890118 for example).
I haven't read it, but I did get to see her new single-handed show-of-the-book at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year. She continues to have do her regular (weekly) five-handed musical show-of-the-book in NYC, but she says she may also tour the single-hander in due course.
Any regular traveller will recognise many of the situations and share the pain/joy. The best thing is that her own good friendly personality comes across both in the show, and on talking to her personally. If only all FAs were like her.
