Lake Zurich is beautiful for a nice walk, even when the weather is cold. There are many swans and unusual (for US) ducks in the water. I was there last March on a layover for one night. Wanted to see the "highlights" while there, so took a grayline tour. It cost about $12, lasted about 2-3 hours and hit many wonderful sights. There are some gorgeous stained glass windows designed by Mark Chagall in a small church. I forget the name of the church, but it is centrally located and quite famous. The chruch is in a quaint area with many small shops.

I have been in Zurich in October-November many times and it was often (sadly) cold, grey, raining, and cold and raining.
In Zurich, I prefer the heart of winter through spring!
However, even in October-November, I have enjoyed it there. After all, this is Switzerland!!!!
