Easter weekend getaway close to D.C.
My best friend and I are spending next weekend together, starting Friday morning through Sunday. She lives in D.C. and while we considered just hanging out there, I'm interested in going to an inn or spa resort type of place within a few hours drive of D.C. Any suggestions? A place with fitness equipment, spa, some outdoor activities, and good food and accomodations would be ideal. Thanks very much.

They have most everything listed.
Inning(new word) in VA is a big activity. Most are listed somewhere in the magazine site.

You could try the Lansdowne Conference Resort just outside of Leesburg, VA if you are looking for a resort. It's maybe a little over an hour from DC depending upon the traffic. The hunt country out there is beautiful too.

How about Annapolis? It is only about 45 minutes from DC. I was there on a day trip about two weeks ago and the downtown area is quite nice. Lots of pubs/restaurants, upscale shopping, old historic buildings, waterfront, USNA, etc. I am sure there must be a ton of B and B's around, but saw a couple of hotels in historic buildings, as well.
