Radiation

Hey,

I got a call from a reporter about radiation on the airplanes. Apparently there's a FAA website that lets you figure out how much radiation you get exposed to during a flight. Has anyone ever used this?

The FAA's Civil Aerospace Medical Institute has developed a program that lets a user get an idea about total radiation absorbed on a great circle route at a given altitude between any two airports. Solar flares, which can provide huge doses, are not included for obvious reasons. The FAA has made their free CARI-6 program available for either online or download useage.
