bump voucher amount

I recently got bumped on American and received a $500 voucher, which I was quite happy with. But now I'm reading at http://www.mytravelrights.com/rights.cfm?si=2&ai=40 and it says that if you are delayed between 2 and 4 hours you should get double the one way fare, or $400 whichever is greater. My one way fare was $892. Should I really have gotten $1784?!

Hmmm... just read another page on that web site which says "Longer than two hours -- 200% of the value of your flight coupon for that segment of your trip, to a maximum of US$400". The previously mentioned page said "If you are delayed more than two hours but less than four, the compensation must be at least double the one way fare or $400, whichever is greater." So, since my $892 fare was for two segments, the first segment could have been around $400, but if we go buy the second quote, I possibly should have gotten an $800 voucher.

That might be the involuntary denied boarding compensation. If you volunteered, you get exactly what AA offered.
