Hotel recommendation in Baltimore

I'm travelling to Baltimore next week and I'm looking for a nice hotel near the Inner Harbor. I was there a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the Hyatt. Nice views, lousy beds. Cost is not a big concern (as long as the place is less than $260/night) since I'm not paying for it. And if anybody wants to meet up, let me know.

I would suggest the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. http://renaissancehotels.com/dpp/Pro...rshaCode=BWISH

I have note actually stayed in a room there, since I live near by, but I love the location, food, and if you get a room on a high floor... the view is amazing. The fact that it is connected to a mall doesn't hurt. I'm in Chicago until Thursday next week, but if you're still around on Friday I'm up for a get together.

The suggestions you have already are good. Also, the Stouffer is nice.

Harbor Court Hotel is the best around, IMHO, and the Inn at Henderson's Wharf at Fells Point by the water taxi is a great experience and excellent value in an old converted tobacco warehouse with a free light breakfast ala B&B style included. They used to also offer see an PO's game and/or decent wine & dinner deals at nearby restaurants so I'd ask if interested.

But for obtaining miles & points, I agree that the REN is probably your best choice. Unless I'm mistaken, this used to once be the Stouffer Harborplace.

I second Doc's recommendation of the Harbor Court -- independent, and a cut above the chains.

My old stomping ground!

Harbor Court Hotel is absolutely the best hotel at the Inner Harbor... definitely worth the cost.

Fells Point is more quaint... Admiral Fell Inn is a nice one over there. And definitely travel by water taxi!

My old stomping grounds too...and I agree with everything said here. Stayed at the Admiral Fell on my last trip back home and had a great stay.

You can't go wrong with any of the choices, and unless something crazy has happened, you won't pay anywhere near $200.

If you choose Fells Point, there's some great pub crawling to do...

I just got back from Baltimore and I want to thank you folks for your advice. I stayed at the Harbor Court Hotel. I got a rate of $190 with AAA membership -- just $10 more than the lousy Hyatt. The HCH was great. I would have never found it without the help of those on the board. I've been on the board for about a year now and the advice I read continues to improve the value and experience of my travels.
