Thanks for the welcome. I stumbled into this site when I was searching on yahoo for some quick advice - Ashford inadvertently deposited 20 million miles (yes, 20 million) into my NW account. I wanted some quick advice on how to keep them before it was found out. Ah, to no avail, they disappeared that afternoon. Needless to say I had fun for about 4 hours booking myself into business class all around the world. I felt like I had won the lottery! NW caught on and I had to call their legal department to have my account reactivated. Such is life...but it was fun while it lasted. I've been hooked on this site ever since.

When, for all intensive purposes, $400,000.00 is deposited into your FF account for free - who is going to be a choosy beggar? Besides...CO is my airline of choice, and the miles would have worked there as well....bittersweet it was. NW is definitely not my first choice of carriers, but, free is free (even with some suffering on NW).

Hmmm, just a reminder. FlyerTalk is about using the system, not abusing it. I think most people on these boards would agree that using those miles would not have been ethical.

I'm sure every airline has some sponsored charity they'll take mileage donations for. One could donate the 20 million extra miles to that organization. Now that would be fun! Even gets rid of those pesky miles you didn't earn.

I'm still learning the rules of the miles game, thanks to this site. I now know that had I posted a question on how to keep the miles, I would have been chastised (to say the least) and also would have violated the spirit of what this site is all about. I'm still learning... Besides, if you folks didn't zap me, karma would have
.
It was fun while it lasted, but it turned out the right way. I'm not complaining, although it really would have been cool if NW had said, "Yes, we made a mistake, but we're going to let you keep the miles since you are such a good customer." And if that fantasy ever happened....
