Q Class

Can anyone tell me how a Q class economy ticket differs from an L class? my Travel Agent has me booked in Q class for one sector of a trip and is being very evasive about what exactly this entails and why this is different than all the other sectors, which are L class.

Thanks

David

There may or may not be anything different about it -- other than a differing fare code.

I can't provide a better answer than that because every carrier uses different letters to mean different things. About the only constants are F, J, C, and Y but even those sometimes mean different things.

If you want to know what the difference is, call your travel agent back and ask what the tarrif differences are. If the Q fare class is below the L class, you might even still be traveling on an L tarrif, in which case the Q inventory doesn't matter at all. However, usually Q is a higher fare basis than L...

Thanks for that info - I hadn't realised that different airlines used their own codes. The specific airline for this ticket is Emirates, if anyone has any information on their economy classifications.
