Stuck with Nonrefundable Tickets?
A new website to be launched next month, FairAir.com recently announced that they will begin accepting tickets purchased on their website for resale with a number smaller carriers. Although no major carrier have signed on as of yet, FairAir says that it has convinced several small carriers to offer transferable tickets the only catch is that only tickets purchased on FairAir.com can be resold through FairAir.
FairAir plans to add a surcharge, less than $10, when a ticket is purchased for this benefit. Should the ticket be sold or transferred, FairAir would asses another nominal fee, which would be significantly less than the current $100.00 penalty many major carrier currently charge. FairAir is based in San Francisco.
