Canadian Customs help needed
I plan on visiting Canada next month, but recently I was informed that I need to get a Minister's permit for entry. I unfortunately do have a police record due to a few incidents when I was 18 and 19 but have been a law-biding citizen every since. Problem is the paperwork that Canada requires will take longer for me to get and process than the 30 days before my flight leaves. My questions are should I still take the flight knowing there is a chance I can be denied entry ? and is there any legit shortcut through all the paperwork required by Canada?

I would definitely not take any chances with Canadian Immigration and Customs. In my personal experience they are some of the harshest in the world.
And the most unpleasant.
A word of warning: if you try to enter Canada, or most other nations for that matter, under false pretenses, you can be barred from any further entry to that nation for life.

I read somewhere that the INS/Customs computers that the US uses are either linked together with Canada's or for all practical purposes are, or could be, one and the same.
Thus, I believe if there's anything on you that would show up if US authorities typed in your info, it would show up for the Canadian authorities as well.
