Advice? Tkt. to Munich

I'm new to the board and seeking advice from this knowledgeable group. Where can I find the best price on 2 tickets to Munich departing 5/9, 5/10 or 5/11 from BTR or MSY in Louisiana? I tried to use my Frequent Flyer points but there aren't any seats available for that time period! I tried for 2 months without luck. Now I have to buy my tickets. I'm mad.

You left getting both revenue and award tickets a little bit too late. For award tickets, 2 months ahead may be a little tough especially if you want to travel on the busy days (Friday-Sunday). It also helps to be flexible on dates and checking out travel partners.

You also missed a great sale US Airways had a few weeks back. I paid $388 including tax (and upgraded to First within the U.S., business across the Atlantic ) just 2 weeks ago for SEA-FRA.

However, US (and probably others) does have a fare from MSY-MUC for $418 + tax (about $500 total) which isn't too bad for this time of the year. You must complete travel by 15 June. Unfortunately US is sold out of MSY on your particular travel dates.

DL, SN or US are probably your best bet if you are going by price. They have the best variety of the cheapest fares out of MSY.

05/08 - 05/14
MSY - MUC on Delta
$464.91

That's the best I was able to find within a couple of minutes... no avaiability on LH's cheapest fares, and no avaiability on 05/09-05/11 on DL.

MUC has heavy restrictions for award and upgrade inventory on DL. It sucks as I fly out of MUC.
In case you have your FF points with DL:
Do you have any status with them? This helps sometimes, because if you find flights with only some seats sold, they are willing to call inventory / revenue control and at least try to release one or two award seats.
