On long or crowded flights, always aisle, for the extra room and/or ability to move around. Window only on short to medium-length if I can get an empty middle seat next to me--but this is better than an aisle, for the view and non-disturbed factor.

Vulcan,

I'm 42 years old...but I've got an old body. Arthritis, bursitis, scar tissue galore, etc. etc. Need to have a aisle seat for comfort. That extra stretching.
My eyesight is horrible, can't enjoy the view if you can't see it!
Yeah, and I always order a low sodium meal, but I think UA is trying to turn me into a vegetarian...cause I never have meat in my meals!

For U.S. domestic flights, I prefer window. I fly to Japan from Minneapolis quite a bit, and for that I always pick aisle, economy or business, unless my economy seat is in the bulkhead and no seats are in front of me. It is frankly hell to be trapped in the window side on a 12 hour flight. But on a domestic flight, I always like the possibility of being able to look out.

I have to say aisle.

I just like the knowledge that I am in control of when I want to get up,and not have to worry that I am being rude to the person next to me by crossing over them when I need to get up.

Also, I commute at least once a week LAX to SJC,and I want to get up and out (or at least standing up w/out hitting my head on the overhead bins) as soon as possible.

Just knowing that I can get up and get into my bag in the overhead bin, or go to the restroom, or walk the aisle when I want means aisles for me.

WINDOWS 98 oops... computer talk...

just windows.

AISLE always. It occurs to me preferences may change as one ages. Not that I'm ancient but I get the impression I'm a wee bit more senior than many active in FT. I don't like to use the seat in front of me to assist standing and exiting. If I'm in a window seat, I often need to do so. I'm more comfortable on the aisle because I can get out of the row easily without discomoding others.

Window for bulkhead seats, aisle for most others. If I know it is a fairly empty flight I'll take the aisle and ask if the seat next to me will be kept open. That way I get the best of both worlds! Again, since my upgrade percentage has been running at 98% I am talking about first class. If there is a chance I may have to take coach, I always ask for (and get) the bulkhead. In that case it doesnt matter.

I prefer a window seat for the view, side support and for avoiding being bumped in the arm by luggage or meal carts. You are also less likely to get hit by something that has fallen from the stuffed overhead compartment when you are not directly below the bin opening. However, I avoid the window seat in emergency exit rows since the door seals often leak cold air.

Coach - aisle

Upgraded -- prefer bulkhead aisle, then bulkhead window. If worse comes to worse, I'll take any seat up front!

Coach -- Aisle or window (upfront), if towards the back, emergency exit, then aisle, then window

Avoid at all costs -- MIDDLE!

Window! Always window!

Hopefully I actually get a window, not a windowless A or F seat on narrowbodies like a 734. And a clean one sans forehead grease or scratches... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

upgraded or not

always AISLE, always on the right hand side of whatever aisle, usually c, d, or j.

I was going to start a thread like this myself, but I did a search and found that it had already been discussed. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Anyone else who hasn't already answered please offer your opinions...aisle or window.

Also, do people prefer bulkheads or non?

For me, aisle in both cabins. I like to have access to the aisles to walk around, use the lav, etc, at my leisure.

On coach flights, I prefer bulkhead for more room.

In domestic First, I prefer non-bulkhead, to strech my legs. In int'l F/C, I prefer bulkhead since there is so much room anyway and no one reclines onto you.

Window - I hate having the overhead luggage landing on my head.

Except long transpacific flights - aisle - I want first dibs on stretching out to sleep.

ROADRUNNER Sep 24, 2000 9:04 pm

Not necessarily wanting to be different, I prefer the INSIDE AISLE seat in coach, if there is one. A chance that the middle person can or will use the other side to exit, if I am dosing.
Aisle in forward cabin. I have seen enough of the stuff out the windows over the years to be able to identigy most of it. Even the state lines!

But I am looking for the day to try those 767 middle singles through the center of First on a long trip. Perhaps CO will make me fly their new one NY - MCO. Are there any good 767 routes, I should consider?
