Planned mis-connect
I just learned I've got to be in HKG late this week. The problem is that my return flight to BNA from HKG arrives 15 minutes AFTER the departure of another trip I planned earlier ORD and DEN.
My inbound HKG routing connects through MEM.
My outbound (conflicting) routing also connects through MEM. So, essentially, if I stayed in MEM, I could make my connection to ORD. To change the flight will increase the fare by almost $900.
Anyone know if NW would allow me to not fly the BNA - MEM flight and just connect up with my MEM-ORD flight?
I'm considering just begging when I get to MEM. Anyone have advice?

What a dilemma! If you miss your first leg of the connection and just get on at MEM for ORD, you might find that they've cancelled your whole trip. Begging might help, but you might want to ask at the gate before your HKG trip.

Begging is good. I had a similar situation on DL several years back and got a benevolent red jacket; I gave up two seats for an earlier connection. It was in their favor because the heavy load factor at the time provided additional revenue for them. I was also an elite; that helps.
