Y fare validity?

Hi,

I purchased a full Y-class ticket, and am wondering how long it is valid for? Does it cease to be valid one year from ticketing, or one year from issued date of travel, or it never expires? Is there a way to extend validity?

Since an open return is allowed, does it mean that I can stay at my destination beyond the date of one year from ticketing, or must all travel be completed within the one year from ticketing?

Thanks for any input!
Cheers,
Maple

It depends on who issued the ticket and if the airline and plating airline are the same or not. Most tickets are valid for one or two years. After that you will need to exchange/refund the ticket for a new one.
