Paris Marathon

Is anybody out there running in this (April 8)? I'm not, but a friend is. A group of us are going to watch. I'm staying at the Hilton, but I wonder if anyone has any good ideas on other hotels along the route or close to it. It goes along the Champs des Elysees, through the Place de la Concorde, Rue de Rivoli, Rue St. Antoine, etc. The website does not have an official hotel mentioned so if anyone running or who has run and has some ideas, I'd be grateful as would my friends.

There is a Marriott along the Champ des Elysees, but I've never stayed there. Check out the Marriott board for more info...there are a couple of reviews there. Apparently, it's a great property, and extremely expensive.

I'm going to Paris in a month and staying at the Renaissance. They have pretty good weekend rates and are located downtown next to a Metro station. I don't know if this suits your location needs or not... It also has received good reviews from fellow FT'ers.
