Thai Hotels

Can anyone help me choose between Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam and the Santiburi Dusit on Koh Samui? Also has anyone ever taken a thai cookery course at The Oriental?

Go for the Dusit on Koh Samui.

Re: Oriental Hotel cooking class. There are more cooking classes available than just the Oriental Hotel's. The best bet is to check out with the Thai Tourism Office who may be able to offer more choices and better rates. I find the Oriental Hotel's food not very authentic Thai. It is sort of watered down for 'Western' tastes.

There's a great cooking school in Koh Samui called "SITCA". There's a link to it on the www.samui.org site (or is it the www.samui.net site?). Definitely a good option!
