FF tracking software - any exist?
I am tired of my pathetic old fashioned accounting system of envelopes and check marks. Is there a software package out there that can help organise my travel life?
I frequently never get credit for car rentals, some flights seem to disappear from my MEMORY (in fact entire days do). What I need is a program that allows me to keep track of my flights, hotels and car rentals. If I could input my data and check it off when it is credited. After a certain amount of time, if there are some uncredited, I would like to see a "heads up" warning. Ideally, I could double click and I will get to a mileage discrepency/claim form to resubmit.
Any ideas?
I am already with Amex and got ripped off with maxmiles tracking systems. These are just glorified reporting systems and not tracking systems. I don't want to know what I got credited for, I want to know what I did not get credited for.
Help!!

davistev,
One option is to get a Palm. I just ordered a Palm IIIxe and can't wait to try it out. I've searched around and have seen a LOT of travel software. I just have no idea what is actually useful. Can anyone recommend a good palm based travel tracking program?
Thanks,
Andrew

I've done a rather fundamental spreadsheet where I list travel dates and destinations in column 1 and 2, and all my FF programs in 3 on. Under each FF program, I enter what I believe I should be credited for each trip..e.g. for HHonors, I have a column for points, one for miles, one for promo miles/points, etc.. some entries are merely X's, some are actual numbers.. when I actually am credited, I change font color in that cell. I put notes re: special promos etc for any particular trip in a notes field.
Kind of a pain, but I haven't had time to do anything slicker... It takes me about 2 hrs a week as much as I travel to do my audits at each FF site and update the spreadsheet. I'm not sure what it says about me that I actually do this, but I've "saved" many thousands of points this year.. miles are pretty accurate, so I'm probably wasting my time going thru the exercise - but I do it anyway! This year I'm adding trip cost in another column so I can tell how much money I'm giving the airlines and hotels!
