Egyptair codesharing
I found out today that I have to go to Cairo next week for a business trip.
I must fly Egyptair, whom I've never flown before and probably never will again.
Do Egyptair codeshare with any other airline so I could pick up the points?
Their website is useless. No Flight 990 jokes, please.
Many thanks!

No codeshares on MS. They do have their own weak, ff program. No alcohol either, if you care.
Why can't you fly the world's favourite airline?

I too had to fly them in 1988 Zurich-Caire return in business. (Reason for flying them was, that the ticket was paid by the Egyptian state owned brewery with the 'Stella-brand', we did license them for our non-alcoholic beer). The equipment was ok, and, on advice by my export manager, I did bring my own food and liquids on board both ways).
The flights were less than 30% booked - plenty of space then to sleep flat., using several seats, with that equipment, then it was possible to take away the businessclass-armrests.

I can't say anything about MS's international service, but I flew them within Egypt three times last week.
The first flight, Cairo to Aswan, was quite an adventure. After arriving at the airport for our 6AM flight, we were told that the flight did not exist. Instead, we were put on another flight, which left an hour an a half later. We were carted out to the plane by bus, and upon arrival at the "Air Cairo" plane, I was quite concerned. Egyptair operates Airbus and Boeing aircraft. This Air Cairo plane was a Tupolev 204-120. We had business class tickets; there were only coach seats on the plane. Not a good start. I did not appreciate this switcheroo, and will let both Carlson Wagonlit (the agency that I went through to book the tix) and Egyptair know. We did get to our destination in one piece however.
From Aswan to Luxor, we were actually on Egyptair equipment, an A300-600, in Business (on a two class plane). The short flight was quite comfortable and the service very pleasant.
From Luxor to Cairo, we were again on Egyptair equipment, another A300-600. This time, we were on a 3-class plane, and were given an "upgrade" to First. Very nice seats, with plenty of pitch. They were a bit old, though, without the frills such as lumbar cycler, personal video, and such. Not that I cared for the 50 minute flight.
Sorry to digress from your topic. Just thought I'd give you a bit more info.

I flew them a couple of weeks ago, Cairo-Amman. My ticket and schedule read i.e. 8:00am departure but when I arrived at the airport and was posted as on time at 9:00am. Typical. I find their First and Business pretty comfortable and the service adequate. Laugh if you want but inflight is better then most U.S. carriers.

I'm back from what I hope will be my only experience on Egyptair.
Their flight attendants must train at the same facility that handles Air France's.
Egyptair's motto should be 'Service with a snarl'.

I was there last year. Every Egyptair flight I took (all of them domestic) was delayed at least an hour. Service was no worse than in the US, food was decidely worse, pitch was probably a bit better.
