The Power of FlyerTalk
Just wanted to commend everyone here and again say how nice it is to see the respect that is given this board.
I mentioned in passing on one thread board that I had a problem receiving points. That day I received a note from the company and within a few days it was taken care of.
I had attempted to take care of it a couple of months ago with no success. One note on FT did it.

It would be nice if you gave a few details so others could benefit from your recent pleasant positive experience. No one from any airline, hotel, car rental etc has ever contacted me re such, and I have been known on occasion to point out an occasional inconsistancy and/or problem.

It would be nice if CO gave that kind of respect to FT! Seems that the recent upheaval over EUA on the CO board has been pretty well ignored by CO. They seem to be quite self-satisfied with their new electronic upgrade scheme. However, most of the FT's here aren't!

Actually, it was Starwood. I had signed up for AT&T Starwood points in June. We hadn't received any as of November. I just commented on the Starwood board that I wouldn't place much credence in an AT&T promotion mentioned based upon previous experience. That's all it took. I was contacted, the situation was taken care of.
I had tried to get it corrected in October, to no avail. It took only a brief mention on FT to straighten it out.

I've been contacted by both Starwood and Hilton with great success for issues e.g. posting points, customer service issues, etc. Noone from an airline has ever responded though - I'm curious - has anyone here ever been responded to by an airline rep?

I wasn't contacted by an airline rep, but a post I made last week certainly got a response I wasn't expecting.
I wrote about discovering an Ionosphere Club that, though locked and shuttered, still survives in a time warp at the New Orleans Airport. About a day and a half after I posted my note, I got an e-mail from a reporter for the Wall Street Journal who reads FT and wanted more details because she thought it would be an interesting story.

The guy who monitors Hilton fixed my account in a short time after I b&med about something. Sorry to say that on my travels since it's not been expedient to stay at Hiltons, but it was a nice gesture.
