Thalys Train - Purchasing Tix from US

The Thalys train is bookable in the US from Rail Europe. It is also bookable online for residents of the countries where the train travels. It is considerably less to buy the tickets that way. However, it says that sales are restricted to residents of those countries.

Has anyone tried this? Its about 30% or so less on the train I want to travel. Any other alternatives? or just eat the $.

Done that without problems from the SNCF web site, I even retrieved my tickets at a machine at the Gare du Nord!
Just click on "France" when you make your reservation, use your US card #, and make sure you note your reservation # in case there is a problem.

Works like a charm. I am not sure of the price difference with Rail Europe, but you should check it out.
