Anyone been to Apulia?
Hi FTers,
I am going to Italy for a week or so in November. I am flying into Milan, taking the train to Rome and spending a week with friends who are teaching this semester. We are planning a trip somewhere new. Apulia was an option. The more I read about it, the more I am intrigued, anybody been? Any suggestions. We are all interested in gardens, town planning, good food and rest.
Also, would you suggest the train to some part of the region (Bari or Taranto) then getting a car?
Thanks.

I was in Apulia several years ago. It is a fascinating part of Italy--especially the cone-shaped houses--which you must see to believe. Frankly the only way that I think you'd really see much is to rent a car and drive there. It is definitely an area to see!
