Lower Manhattan hotels?

I need a hotel near Wall St. I know about the Hilton Millenium, but they want over $400 per night! Any other decent choices in that area? I've taken the subway from Mid-town down there before and I'd rather avoid it in the future.

Something walking distance to Broad St. would be perfect.

Marriott World Trade Center and Marriott World Financial Center are almost right next to each other and usually have some of the most reasonable rates in the area.

There're nice but nothing fancy...just standard Marriott fair.

Stimpy,
It might sound crazy, but I have stayed twice at the Best Western Seaport in South Street Seaport and highly recommend it. It's usually under $200 a night for a weekday and about $125 on weekends. It's actually a rather nice, quiet hotel with a grand view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Great for the price and unique location but since it's very small it's often sold out.

I asked this question a little while back. The thread goes off topic a little, but there are hotel ideas:

The recently opened Embassy Suites across the street from the World Financial Center gets about $300/night during the week. On weekends, there is a "Family Fun Pack" rate that costs about $219 and you get free toys You can also sometimes get a AAA weekend rate of $179

Thank you Bizjet. Yes I can't recall ever staying at a Best Western. But thanks for the recommendation anyway Applefan.

The Regent sounds more to my liking, but they want $490 for a corporate rate! The Marriott's want $390. But I'm not giving up yet. I'll get some kind of decent room for a decent price.

I was there about two weeks ago (with business on Maiden Lane). The place I stayed was way too expensive and I won't do it again. The other people I was meeting with stayed at the new Holiday Inn, and they were very happy. Personally, I will stay at the Brooklyn Marriott because it is only 2 subway stops from Wall Street.

I would recommend (if you can get the right price) in this orderL

1. Marriott World Trade center (where I met "Cyndi" for the first time.

2. Millenium Hilton.

3. Marriott World trade center.

I hope to try the EMbassy suites sometime. I think Larry U should talk more about it.

The Best Western is news to me and maybe I can try them. Thank you Applefan for the suggestion.

Stimpy, if you give me dates let me see if there are any weekend specials at any of these hotels.

The Marriott Brooklyn is two subway stops and it's in teh area (by cab) to Peter Lugars.

And Stimpy PLEASE IF U GET THE TIME LOOK ME UP AND LET'S DO DINNER OR DRINKS OR SOMETHING. AND IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY YOU NEED TO DO A FLYERTALK TRADITION: LOSING YOUR KRISPY KREAME VIRGINITY!!!

Randy can I say that on this board?

Weekends are for home and my lazy boy so no weekend rates for me. Catman, I'll let you know when my plans finalize.

I'm not a virgin though. We do have a Krispy Kreme here in LGB you know. I got a free box when the Dodgers shut out the Phillies last week (special LA promotion).

AMEX travel agencies have negotiated corporate rates at a number of lower Manhattan hotels: Fulton Plaza $170 standard, $255 superior; and Holiday Inn Manhattan Wall Street, $191 are the two nearest Wall Street. They also have a few hotels in the Chinatown/SOHO areas. Call or visit any American Express Travel Agency (you don't need to be an AMEX cardmember). Ask for the "Select Rate" if they don't come up with these rates.
