More on E-tickets to Paper

Just got off an itinerary on NW which was ticketed by e-ticket.

I wanted paper tickets printed out, but the agent said, "that is only done when there are flight irregularities such as delays or cancellations."

"Bullshi t, this is something that can be done if only you wanted to, flight irregularities or not. Quit being so da m ned *Northwest* and print out my freaking paper tickets!!!" I screamed at the agent while pounding my fists on the desk, silencing the entire ticketing area at DTW (in my mind).

Actually, intrigued if this was something new, I asked her just that. She said it's something that's been done all along.

Huh?

The switchover can indeed be done at any time, even over the phone. I recently purchased a ticket on nwa.com, and then immediately called NW reservations to have the ticket printed out. They mailed it to me, albeit with "The blue slash."

So yes, it can be done at any time.
