Concorde cancellations....

A friend of mine told me he was given a return Concorde ticket for his b-day last year. He turned it into a 1st class BA ticket instead...citing the age of the planes as his decision.

That got me looking on the web for any cancellation rates due to the recent events...BUT...then I figured...why would BA publish these? Anyone seen any?

See the 945 discount on the Norwegian QEII cruise/Orient Express/Concorde flight!

At 1495 it is THE travel bargain of 2000.

Interesting indeed...and even more interesting is what I meant by 'rates' and how it was interpreted!

I meant 'rates' as in '% of people cancelling' not as in 'discounts now available'.

Dorian: BA did publish the number of people who elected to transfer to sub-sonic travel yesterday - they also pointed out the nationalities of those who transfered, but that is a whole different story!

I have to confess to being at a total loss about why we are suddenly discussing this however, did anyone comment about the crash in India last week?

Anyway in answer to your specific question, the number of cancellations yesterday was very small - less than 10%.

BA have telephoned all Concorde passengers who are booked until 4th August and offered them a refund or transfer to sub-sonic. There are no reductions on scheduled Concorde services.

Dorian .. if you had READ ( ) my initial link above from the largest user of BA Concorde's, it said, and indeed still says:

"Currently the Company is receiving very few calls from clients who wish to cancel their arrangements and a considerable number of calls of sympathy and support. Goodwood Travel will however refund any of their clients who, under the circumstances, wish to cancel."
