That's really not a bad fare at all. Occasionally AS will have an efare, or there will be some type of "sale" but there's little competition on the route, and you can get a nonstop on AS. You are talking a RT fare of $280... if so, its a very good fare. If its oneway, its not "outrageous" for that market.

John - Welcome aboard - you are definitely in the right place at FT.
Check the home page af Alaska Air for specials. However, they are less likely to exist on SEA/FAI during the busy summer season. You know, in FAI - 23 hours of daylight, Northern lights, ice & snow finally melted!

I fly to alaska often (again this week!). There are NEVER cheap fares to FAI because only major flying the route is Alaska. There is is local carrier(from ANC), frontier flying service competing. However flights are limited,on a beechcraft, and no miles! Wait i forgot that Delta has one late night departure (with one early morning return) that is about $50 cheaper. But if it breaks,or is delayed... your options are non existant.
