Good Thoughts

We have to fly up to NYC this weekend. My mother-in-law has had a minor stroke. Please send kind thoughts her way. Originally we were to fly up to attend my father-in-law's 80th birthday party. The fragility of what we take for granted becomes apparant each day.

My thoughts are with you and your family. I too was in a similar situation with a loved one awhile back.

May all airline staff treat you with the consideration and compassion you deserve by not creating any further grief for you.

Thank you all. We leave shortly. I did speak to my mother-in-law on the phone and she is doing much better. She will probably be in a rehab center next week. We will be facing a new adventure in that we are flying to Islip. My Brooklyn boy husband is amazed that comercial planes fly there.

We had someone close to us pass away recently and US was very good about getting my wife a special fare at the last minute. We had to supply some details for verification but it saved us $700 at a very hard time and I am grateful.

We had an accident recently that was very scarey and I am glad to say we are all okay, but of course life is very impermanent...

I just saw your request. Our prayers and best wishes to you and your family. I have been there too and know how difficult these things are.

Thank you all for your kind messages. My mother-in-law is doing extremely well. (Almost too well, she wanted to skip rehab and just go home ) We had good flights up to Islip. Nashville to Atlanta to Islip (and reverse). My youngest even charmed the very nice FA on our regional jet to Islip. He came away wih about a dozen snack packs. Enough to hold him. Hey, 10 yr old boys get HUNGRY We were able to have a nice party for my father-in-law's 80th birthday. A nice private activities room.
Trip Report: The flight back from Islip to Atlanta wasn't as nice. We had bulkhead seats which was good. Slightly more leg room. The FA did one thing that really irritates me. She had filled both sides of the overhead compartments with her personal items Instead of pushing my way down the aisle I sat to wait for the other passengers to board, planning to then stow my carryon bag. Well, the FA started lecturing me on putting my things away. During the flight the usual announcement about connecting information being announced before arrival in Atlanta. We waited. No Announcement. My husband asked when she was going to give the information. He was told that she had personally gone down the aisle and relayed the information to people. Why she didn't ask us I don't know. It must have been done very quietly since neither he nor I heard it (we both had aisle seats). She was unable to give us our connecting information because she threw it away. I'm glad to be home, cleaning up at the end of the school year, and preparing for our vacation. LONDON! PARIS! And one of my favorites...BRUSSELS!
