Spain in July
I am planning a trip to Mallorca and/ or Marbella this July. I will be staying at the Marriott properties at these two locations.
1. Has anyone stayed at the Marriott Marbella Beach Resort and the Mallorca Marriott?
2. Should I rent a car?
3. Is Diners Club widely accepted?
4. Any other comments will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks fellow flyertalkers!

Re Mallorca, check out my mate's house there: www.mallorcavilla.net and look at the "links" page.
I don't think they've heard of Diners Club in Spain!

I would rent a car either place but be prepared for your hubcaps to get stolen.
If you go to Mallorca, trips through the cathedral and the castles are a must and we truly enjoyed driving all over the island. Everything was wonderful, the beaches, the towns, the pearl factories, the old glass factory and museum, the small family owned restaurants we found along the way. Rudi even has a lake named after his ancestors on Mallorca.
From Marbella, it is an easy day trip by car to Gibraltar or even Granada. I can't wait to go back this November when we plan to spend at least one night at the Alhambra in Granada. We are staying most of the time in Estepona which is a lovely coastal town where I believe I will retire (At least in the winter). Also be sure to drive up into Mijas (I believe it is called) where they have some amazing views of the coast.
I love Spain.
