Expiring Voucher

I'm holding a $$ voucher that's going to expire soon. How can I protect it's value for future use, since I don't need it now? Should I purchase a refundable ticket for a future flight I don't intend to take - then change that itinerary later when my plans are definite ?? Are there other obvious ways that I'm missing?

Try calling up your airline's customer service hotline and asking for an extension.

You might try exchanging it with someone else on the board in the Coupon section. They might need one sooner and be willing to give you one later, if not "named".
