St. Pete/Clearwater accomodations

Anyone have some good suggestions for reasonable accomodations in St. Pete/ Clearwater w/i a block from the beach? Looking for something like a cottage/condo/small hotel type place as opposed to big resort or high-rise. Cooking facilities would be a plus. Thanks.

Please define "reasonable." When I saw someone (on this forum) refer to $169 for a room in the French Quarter as "inexpensive," it just re-affirmed to me how important it is for people to be as explicit as possible. Also, you'll probably want to state when you are planning to go. Rates in beach areas are very seasonal.
