WAS - Budapest
I'm going to Budapest in a month or so and have two choices (because I intend to use Delta System-wides to upgrade): SwissAir from Dulles to Zurich with a five-hour layover, then Malev (Hungarian) to Budapest; or Delta to New York and Malev to Budapest. If anyone has flown either in Business, I'd appreciate comments, and if anyone has flown both, the comments will be even more deeply appreciated.

Malev is a great airline if you like hungarian food and Tokai wine. Service is also excellent. If you want to fly direct to Hungary, there is no other choice out of JFK. However, the seats are slightly more narrow than US carriers in Business Class. I believe the seats have footrests, but they are older style BC seats. BC is rarely full on these flights.
Until the Austrian airlines partnership went south, I always liked taking Austrian to Budapest via Vienna.
Let me know if there is any info I missed here that you are looking for.

DrAndy:
You've either received five or six emails or none. In either event, I apologize for cluttering your email system (if I have) and thank you for the info on Malev. That's the way I'll be travelling, as a result of a combination of fares and upgrade availability.
I really would have enjoyed meeting Rudi in Zurich, but that connection was sold out.
