Alright... I've decided to change screen names I'm kidding.

Laugh now, but just remember who ends up sticking you. What, do you all think it's normal to need a few attempts at drawing blood... ha. I'll make sure to keep my eyes open for BlondeBomber

Now I understand why people refuse to call an ambulance in upstate NY.

On the issue of nice romantic restaurants in NYC, I can heartily recommend Boxtree (Grill?), which is over around 50th(?) near lexington. Great place, has always been rated very highly in Zagats. Have eaten there several times when staying at the Waldorf nearby, and have always had a fantastic meal.

Yes, The Boxtree is on 49th off 2nd Av, but I'm not quite as enthusiastic as DJlawman. I'd add its somewhat popular with the "Euro" crowd.

I'd have to agree with doc, it's a bit over rated.

Back to dingo's question:

I'd stay at the WTC Marriott.
Go to the Windows on the World bar for a pre-dinner drink. Great view.
Then catch a cab to SPARKS (as recommended above) for great steaks.
After that, you're on your own.

Thanks George! I agree 100%...Enjoy dinner at Windows(romantic) at the WTC and Sparks(fabulous steaks) in midtown Dingo!

By the way and very Omni:

The above suggestion is the exact schedule Catman and I used to celebrate my birthday last fall... of course you'd have to tack on an after dinner cocktail at the bar at the W Hotel just around the corner... great place to have a $9 gin & tonic and watch people who look like models, are models, or wish to meet models.

Hey guys- sorry, but this is important

models? Which bar? Just curious of course.

How does that scene compare to 'W' - the Wet bar on Lexington? That's a great scene too.

Sorry Geo1004, I read your post very quickly. I believe we are actually referring to the same place. I very much agree. This place would be the equivalent to Skybar at the Mondrian in LA.
