200k for US-Asia First Class RoundTrip, Good deal?

Is this a good deal?

200,000 miles for a first class roundtrip on Swissair from North America to Asia (I plan to use it for PHL or JFK-DEL).

It was 185,000 for business class so I figured the 15,000 more miles doesn't mean much more. And I really don't want to travel Coach, so..

Thanks for your feedback.

United is 120k miles for the same trip, with a transpacific routing... if you have United miles available.

Wow! Lots of miles. NWA, admittedly not SwiassAir or Singapoare, offers 75k, 100k for BC and FC in off peak, and 90k and 120k in peak for BC and FC.

BA is 125K in first via Europe from Canada (on CP's Mileage Plus).

This is with USAirways Dividend Miles, the only program with which I have miles. I went through the site at http://www.usairways.com/dividend/redeem.htm and re-visited the list and found:

North America-Asia:

50,000 miles: Economy on ANA or NW offpeak
55,000 miles: Economy on ANA or NW offpeak
70,000 miles: Economy on ANA or NW
90,000 miles: Business on ANA or NW
120,000 miles: First on ANA or NW

Similar flights on Austrian Airlines, Sabena or Swissair are about 50-75% more miles. Are those airlines that much better?

Personally I'd go for the 120k FC on ANA!

Is this for Asia or for India? I know that India is part of Asia, but the airlines do not think so. United does not fly to India any more and some of their partners require substantially more miles.

I used 100K BA miles for a RT between US and India this year in business class. Flights were ok, but their connections from Denver through London were terrible.

200,000 sounds like an awful lot of miles for this trip but you didn't say which program you were redeeming miles with for this Swissair flight. Was it their own, on an affiliated program?

As others have noted, similar award vary considerably from program to program and even among partner carriers within programs. As BB noted, Cdn+ gives the same award via Europe on BA for 125,000 in J and much less if to Pacific rim Asia in that direction.
