LuxAir

Anyone ever flown with these people? They are offering some great fares to Europe and I heard of one person saying they were okay, but I've got no other experience/information. Please advise if you do! Thanks!

Thanks agian steve100; Luxair and "City bird" are related. I understand but has anyone had any real inflight etc experience with them? It seems like it should be quite decent but I just don't know. Also, I guess none of the majors are matching these $149. each way fares!

Personally, I have not flown them, but the best thing about them is that you are flying into Luxembourg City Airport, about five miles from downtown Luxembourg City. For those who are bargain hunters, LUX is usually less crowded than either LHR or FRA, and a lot less expensive in the off-season. The main train station in Lux City offers easy connection and train service to most of Europe.

Any info on this airline/services would be appreciated. A good friend of mine in traveling on them to Luxembourg in mid-August and would love to hear. Luxembourg is a great small city, I took the train there from Brussels last month for a quick day trip and found it charming as well as as picturesque, not to mention completely walkable. If going by train don't be dismayed by the dreary area of foreign banks & fast food restaurants around the Central Station, just head left or straight ahead to the "old town".

I wrote LuxAir regarding the cancellation of the Newark to Luxembourg flights. I got back the following from them:
Dear Mr. Meyers,
We really do appreciate your nice words and support of our servives between Luxembourg and Newark. Unfortunately the financial results of the route, despite the high load factor, are forcing us to discontinue the flights by the end of this October.
With our renewed thanks for your support, we remain
yours sincerely
