Web site's cheap flights to Hawaii get shot down

A Web site offering Honolulu-Los Angeles tickets for as little as $89 each way has been ordered by a Hawaii judge to stop selling tickets because it doesn't have any of the approvals it needs to operate.
Mainline Airways LLC has run a Web site since at least April, taking bookings for a service it first said would start in June and now says will begin in July, starting with daily widebody jet service between Los Angeles and Honolulu.

The state Office of Consumer Protection said today that its investigation shows hundreds of consumers may have purchased tickets from Mainline. But the Massachusetts-based company has failed to take any of the steps it must take in order to operate, such as filing an application with the Federal Aviation Administration or satisfying the state's legal requirements to operate as a charter tour operator or travel agency, the office said.
