BookThrough/Walk-Off

I've been pricing the LGA/IAD runs and are finding them outrageous (~$400). I can book UA through IAD to ATL for $175. What are the airlines' policies these days if I book through to ATL and walk off (and back on) at IAD?

They will most likely cancel the return portion of your ticket.

I don't know if that's meant to be a sarcastic response to letiole or not but her answer is the truth....

Not meant to be sarcastic towards response, just another plus from the Friendly Skies!

Hi,

Not only from UA but this would be the policy of most airlines.

Yes, standard policy for all airlines. If you don't show for one segment, they cancel all the rest. That sort of "hidden city" trick you described can work if you're going one-way, but it can never work for round-trip. Also have to make sure you don't check baggage, as it would be checked through.
