United PassPlus

I'm curious about travel agency fees for booking PassPlus tickets. It would seem to me that the agency got its commission at the time of the sale; so then, can it still charge a fee for booking each ticket? Aren't they getting a double commission then?

Agencies can charge whatever "service fee" they like. It's up to you whether you wish to pay it or not. Since the airlines have reduced the agency commissions to no more than 25.00 for a single transaction they have no say in what the agencies charge.

IowaSun: As I'm sure you've figured out, this topic better suited for the UA forum. Although I've never used PassPlus, I'm pretty sure that agencies don't get to charge whatever they please -- it's a fixed price product (setting aside volume discounts), so there should be fixed commissions.
